Compulsive sexual behaviours can be as destructive and devastating as any substance addiction, yet the shame and fear of being stigmatized often prevent those affected from seeking help. Sex addiction can involve compulsively pursuing one relationship after another, compulsive consumption of pornography, engaging in multiple casual sexual encounters, or having multiple sexual partners.
